Born in France in 1976, living and working in London.

Axelle’s work is questioning the way history, social context and individual experience define self identity.

She started working on mixed media sculptures in 1997 and following her MA graduation in 1998 she moved to London.
Her early works featured the recycling of books and included typography. Subsequently she developed her fabric installations and moved toward mixed media and painting.

Axelle’s newest body of work, based on personal memories uses photographies and collage. These works, drawn digitally, are a departure from her previous work in 3D.
